Answers and explanations
| Question | Answer | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
75 | 40 + 20 = 60 and 8 + 7 = 15. Then 60 + 15 = 75.
45 | Count up from 46 to 50 is 4, then from 50 to 91 is 41 more. 4 + 41 = 45.
599 | 300 + 200 = 500, 40 + 50 = 90 and 6 + 3 = 9. The total is 599.
332 | 482 − 100 = 382, then 382 − 50 = 332.
60 | The 6 is in the tens place, so it stands for 6 tens, which is 60.
58 | An even number ends in 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8. Only 58 does.
40 | 3 dimes are 30 cents and 2 nickels are 10 cents. 30 + 10 = 40.
15 | 24 − 9 = 15.
64 | 30 + 20 = 50 and 6 + 8 = 14. 50 + 14 = 64.
20 | Four fives make 20.
160 | Add 10 each time: 150 + 10 = 160.
436 | 4 hundreds, 3 tens and 6 ones make 436.
12 | 3 groups of 4 make 12.
4:00 | One hour after 3:00 is 4:00.
